Fountain Hills Sister Cities is a proud sponsor of the "Fountain of Light"

Thursday, September 26 was the first illumination of the Fountain of Light on the Avenue of the Fountains in Fountain Hills. Local artist Brian Schader brought the new sculpture to our public art collection.

This magnificent glass spire, inspired by our town’s world-famous fountain, represents what it means to all who live and visit our community. Fountain Hills Sister Cities has helped to sponsor this new art piece along with many other contributors.

Words from Artist Brian Schader...

“My vision for this elegant spire is to sit proudly on the Avenue of the Fountains, greeting visitors and residents alike as they approach one of the most frequented boulevards in our town,” the artist explained.

Schader created the design for its mass appeal, the inspirational nature of light, and its effect on all of us.

Schader worked also closely with the Fountain Hills Dark Sky Association. The design ensures that the indirect interior lighting of the sculpture conforms to the town’s dark sky-friendly lighting codes.

Truly Inspirational...

Sister Cities Is Proud to Be a Part of This Legacy Art Piece...

Bronze plaques are integrated into the base design to provide a bit of town history and a listing of past mayors. They also provide recognition for those patrons who made the installation possible, including Fountain Hills Sister Cities.

The sculpture is sponsored by the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association along with the Town of Fountain Hills. It is part of the Fountain at 50 Celebration.
